Orwell Dome Day
Thursday 18th May, 2000
The following article appeared in the Orwell Bulletin of June 2000:
The Dome had something of interest for everyone
"How was it for you? A group of 50 or so eager Orwellians travelled on the appropriately named Meridian Line coach "Millennium" to Waterloo Pier, where we had a superb view of the London Eye, before boarding our City Cruises vessel "Millennium Time" for a fascinating journey down the Thames to Greenwich. This was a wonderful lead-up to our visit to The Dome, which turned out to have something of interest for everyone -though each person who went would have a different opinion as to what was the best bit......
The spectacular Millennium Show? Self Portrait? Body? Blackadder? Journey? The Meridian Line? The Sea Food Bar?I know I am going to have to make another visit as there wasn't time to see everything and I didn't even get to the shop!
The important thing was we all had a great day out and we've been there , Dome that!"
