The Heritage Trail commenced at St. Andrew's Church at 3.30pm on Sunday 23rd April 2000, with participants given a free map and guide to help follow the trail and find out about the historic parts of the village.

Additionally, at the same time, there was a Children's Treasure Hunt at the same commencing time. Entrants were categorised as under-7s, 8 & 9 year olds, and 10 and 11 year olds. Prizes worth £50 were to be won.

Incidentally, this event was sponsored by Mantles Rover.
