Volac started at Wendy in 1970 and moved to Fishers Lane Orwell in 1978.
The company made milk replacers and feed ingredients for animals in their factories in Wales and Liverpool and later on, introduced bale wrapping technology to the UK.
1989 a pitched roof was added to their building and an extension together with a warehouse.
1990---The official opening of Volac House.
1991 sees the introduction of milk replacers using whey processing technology.
1998 Whey processing technology is developed for human nutrition.
Milk replacers are used for elephants, chickens, hedgehogs, deer and other animals.
In 2012 Volac employs about 250 people, with about 55 at Volac House, several of whom live in Orwell.
