Orwell village Millennium 'Showcase'
Held at the Village Hall on Friday 17th March to Sunday 19th March 2000
Designed to ensure that all Orwellians know what 'goes on' in Orwell, the Showcase was held at the Village Hall. There was free entry to view more than 50 stands (prepared and manned by local individuals, clubs or societies), including an opportunity to have a free valuation of antiques. An enormous number of people were involved in various ways in organising and presenting this major local event.
Over the three days of the event, various refreshments were available, together with home made cakes and tea, with hot snacks available on the Saturday.
A further attraction was a lunchtime performance on the Sunday by the Orwell Singers.
Incidentally, this event received a grant from Awards for All.
